Here are the top stories today in Toledo:

  1. Adams Street in downtown Toledo will be closed from 12th Street to 17th Street on Thursday to accommodate a Glass City Crawlers Jeep crawl event. The closure will last from 3:30-10 PM and no alternate route will be posted. (WTOL)
  2. Toledo Police responded to a shooting at Last Chance Saloon parking lot near the 400 block of Oak Street. Two suspects were apprehended and the victim eventually died from their wounds, leading to one suspect’s bail rising from $250,000 to $1 million. (WNWO NBC 24)
  3. The Toledo Lucas County Health Department announced Tuesday that it is recommending face masks for all people regardless of vaccination status in areas of high transmission. This recommendation is in line with the CDC’s latest advice, and residents are encouraged to get the vaccine. (WTOL)
  4. Six people are seriously injured after a car accident that occurred in South Toledo at Heatherdowns and Reynolds Road. Toledoan Elizabeth Hinkle had a green arrow and was turning left onto Reynolds when she was struck by Danielle Carter, who had run the red light. Carter had five children with her in the car. All were taken to Toledo Hospital and the crash is under investigation. (WTOL)
  5. There is a special back-to-school event happening at Franklin Park Mall from Friday through Sunday. Select school supplies will be sold tax-free, including clothes under $75 and supplies under $20. Individual stores may have their own deals as well. (13abc Action News)
